BLIK in Revolut at full strength. There is a transfer to the number!

Revolut

Revolut launches BLIK P2P transfers. The Polish application gains the missing element and completes the package of basic services.

Revolut takes another step on the Polish market and adds BLIK P2P transfers to the application. This is a feature whose lack has long distinguished fintech from first-choice banks. Just a year ago, the first users in Poland received access to BLIK itself, but without the possibility of immediate transfers to a telephone number. Now this missing module is in the hands of customers, completing the set of basic payment tools.

Revolut implements BLIK

According to Revolut, within 11 months of implementing BLIK in the application, over 1.9 million customers in Poland have activated this payment method. Since last fall, users have completed over 30 million transactions using 6-digit BLIK codes – online, in stationary stores and with ATM withdrawals – with a total value exceeding PLN 4 billion. This shows the scale of use of the system and explains why phone transfers were the most awaited addition to the offer.

The novelty works in line with the habits of customers of other institutions: you can register your phone number to receive funds and send instant transfers to contacts using BLIK P2P. The app provides a list of friends from your phone book who have the service active, which simplifies the process of sending money.

How to use?

Access to BLIK transfers in Revolut is available in two places. The first is the BLIK icon visible next to the Polish zloty account – next to the one-time code there is now an option to order a transfer. The second path is the “transfers” tab: after clicking the plus sign, you can select BLIK as the transfer type. The solution is therefore consistent with the current application navigation and does not require the user to change their habits.

The introduction of BLIK P2P transfers completes the “almost everything” stage in Revolut’s Polish offer. Fintech, which has so far declared its ambition to be the bank of first choice, is closing the last gap – a function used by millions of people every day. Michał Kisiel (Bankier.pl) notes that the long-awaited addition is now being added to the latest version of the application, and practical tests confirm the availability and operation of the service as expected.
