The importance of BLIK on the Polish market

BLIK is one of the most popular mobile payment standards in Poland, the development of which is the responsibility of Polski Standard Płatności.

The company’s shareholders are Alior Bank, Bank Millennium, Santander Bank Polska, ING Bank Śląski, mBank, PKO Bank Polski and Mastercard. Last year, 2.4 billion transactions were made using the system, worth over PLN 347.3 billion.

The system enables quick payments in stores, online and transfers to the phone, and its popularity means that any failure, even a short one, has a significant impact on the daily transactions of users across the country.
