Biedronka employees couldn’t believe it. Góral “earned” a record amount on bail

A new deposit system has been in force in Poland for several months. We pay an additional 50 cents for plastic bottles and cans, and 1 zloty for reusable glass bottles. Some people haven’t even noticed the new system yet, but others are already showing that they can benefit from it. The Biedronka supermarket chain provided “Fakt” with data on the implementation of the program in its stores.

Białka Tatrzańska. Record return for deposit packaging

As revealed by the company, the highest single voucher – PLN 367.50 – concerned the return of 735 packages as part of manual collection. It was issued in a store in Białka Tatrzańska at ul. Średnia 294A. In the case of the slot machine, the record was slightly lower and amounted to PLN 298. This Voucher was generated in Zakopane, in the store at Jagiellońska Street.

The company reported that the average voucher value across the entire network is currently PLN 5.80. This applies to both automatic and manual collection. In total, by March 3, Biedronka customers had already donated PLN 53,510,000. packaging. Mostly in the Silesian, Masovian and Lesser Poland voivodeships. Least of all in the Opole and Lubusz voivodeships.

There is also a clear increase in the statistics. Between December and February, the number of packages collected increased by 1,836%. In December it was 183 thousand. returned packaging, in January 8 million 461 thousand, and in February 39 million 412 thousand.

— Our goal is to cover all stores where it is possible with the automatic bottle dispenser system, emphasized Agnieszka Koc, Director of Environmental Protection and Sustainable Development at Biedronka, in an interview with “Fakt”. – At the same time, since the entry into force of the new law, collection has been operating throughout the entire network, even if it is still done manually in some stores – she added.
