Madeira is mainly associated with Portugal, after all, it is an island of this country located in the Atlantic Ocean. It is characterized by beautiful views, access to clean water and magical beaches. Tourists usually come there to enjoy numerous attractions – walk along picturesque trails or swim in natural pools. What do these regions have in common with the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship? It turns out that in our country there is the so-called Świętokrzyska Madeira, which attracts crowds.
Świętokrzyska Madeira in Poland
The name of the Świętokrzyska Madeira was earned by the Cedzyna Reservoir. It is located in a small village in the Kielce district, in the Górno commune. It is a charming and almost fairytale place, where you can enjoy not only the beach and water. It is also an ideal space for walks and water sports. There are, among others, two guarded bathing areas on site. Lifeguards and policemen watch over tourists.
At the reservoir in Cedzyna you can admire beautiful landscapes. Lush greenery and small mountains catch the eye. The reservoir itself takes up about 65 ha of water, and for two years it has been one of the most popular places of this type in the Świętokrzyskie province. It is the starting point for the blue tourist trail named after Wołoszyn, which leads to Wąchock, the red bicycle trail leading to Nowa Słupia and the black bicycle trail leading to Kielce. Crowds flock to the place, and people living in Kielce can get there by car in just 20 minutes. In turn, in 30 minutes you can get from Cedzyna to Łysa Góra, a peak 594 m above sea level in the Świętokrzyskie Mountains.

Tourists visiting Świętokrzyska Madeira have at their disposal, among others, two beaches – the eastern one measuring about 180 m and the western one covering about 50 m. In addition, there will be six parking lots, toilets, changing rooms, two beach volleyball courts and an outdoor gym.
The main local promenade is a hit, along which there are catering, service and shopping points. The whole thing is organized in such a way that both adults and children are happy. It is worth adding that we are talking about a great alternative for people who want to combine relaxation by the water with walks in the mountains. Water sports enthusiasts at the reservoir in Cedzyna can rent special swimming equipment, as well as take advantage of organized sailing, educational or sports activities. In addition, a walking and cycling path and an educational path run along the reservoir.
