It should consist of lowercase and upper letters, numbers and special characters (#, @, &).
-
Each service should have unique password – You can’t use the same for different websites.
-
It is worth activating two -stage login (e.g. confirmation by SMS or by application).
Safe login rules – the bank reminds you of key rules
Password masking
Pekao uses a function masking passwordswhich means that when logging in, the user enters only selected charactersnot a full password. Thanks to this, cyber criminals cannot capture the whole string of characters.
The bank will never ask you for a full password! If someone on the phone or e-mail requires full login data, then you will certainly try to fraud.
Do not save passwords on cards or in browsers – instead of use password managerwhich will ensure their safe storage.
What to do in case of suspected fraud?
If you suspect your data may have been taken over:
- Return the cards and block access to online banking – this can be done in the Peopay application or by calling the number 519 222 222.

- Notify the police or prosecutor’s office about the suspicion of committing a crime and inform the bank about it.
