Babiarz caused a storm with his words on TVP. PiS politicians do not hide their delight

A surprising comment was made by Przemysław Babiarz. This is how the TVP presenter commented on the famous “Imagine” that resounded during the opening of the Olympic Games in Paris.

The historic opening ceremony of the Olympic Games in Paris is behind us. During the artistic part, one of the greatest contemporary hits was presented, namely “Imagine” by John Lennon. The piece was performed on the Seine by the French artist Juliette Armanet. She was accompanied by Sofiane Pamart, who played on a “burning” piano.

Paris 2024. Babiarz found the idea of communism in “Imagine”

Viewers who watched the ceremony from Paris could hear a surprising comment by Przemysław Babiarz. – A world without heaven, nations, religions and this is the vision of this peace that is to encompass everyone. This is the vision of communism, unfortunately – said the presenter referring to the words of the song.

It was not the first comment of this type by Przemysław Babiarz. The presenter has a clear problem with the former Beatle’s song. During the Beijing Olympics in 2008, when “Imagine” resounded during the opening ceremony, also attributed a communist message to the song. “On the one hand, an appeal for peace, equality and brotherhood for all humanity, such a utopian vision of the world, and one must notice that the composition contains a firm and controversial message with a communist, anarchist and anti-religious tinge,” he said at the time.

Paris 2024. Politicians on the words of Przemysław Babiarz

The politicians’ reaction was not long in coming. “I thank editor Babiarz for the voice of reason and honesty in this politically correct madness,” wrote Beata Szydło on her social media profile. “Full respect for Przemysław Babiarz. One of the last sober thinkers in Tusk’s TVP,” added Rafał Bochenek. Michał Dworczyk, in turn, stated that the presenter’s words were “extremely important and courageous.”

Sebastian Kaleta attempted a slightly broader comment. The politician of Sovereign Poland stated that “the opening ceremony is intended to show the world what the host has to offer”. “France today showed trances posing in the form of the “Last Supper” and many other similar accents. A perfect summary of Przemysław Babiarz’s leftist opening ceremony of the games” – assessed the MP.
