At these airports they are fed up with queues. Tourists do not have to show documents
Italy endures the identity control of passengers at airports. This will happen in specific circumstances, but even Poles will benefit. All to deal with crowds.
Traveling by plane from the airport to another country is almost always associated with detailed safety controls. In addition, you need to be ready to check the on -board cards just before entering the machine or confirm your identity with your ID card or passport. It turns out that the latter formality will no longer apply. Italians have introduced important changes.
Italians do not check the documents
From mid -July, passengers going from Italy to other countries from the Schengen area and domestic flights do not have to show their ID cards or passports while boarding at the goal. Until now, documents have shown airlines together with the on -board card.
The changes concern, among others Poles. If we want to return from holidays in Italy without a document confirming identity, we will do it without a problem. The Italians decided on a rather unusual movement, because in most ports there are strict controls. Thanks to them, you can often avoid a situation in which instead of us is on board someone else who, for example, stole our ticket. It is also often about safety issues and checking whether there is no one who should not enter the machine.
The new rule is to solve the problem
The Italian Air Office ENAC explains that thanks to abolished controls, he wants to shorten the queues and improve the process of entering the plane. What’s more, lines that will continue to check documents are punishable by punishment.
“Airports are safe places and it is high time to treat travel by plane as much as the train. We waste too much time because of bureaucratic procedures, and the liquidation of this requirement means that Boarding will take place faster,” commented the head of ENAC in an interview with “Corriere della Sera”.
The new rules already work, but some carriers have not started to follow them and not everyone likes the revolution. Protests, among others CODACONS Consumer Organization, according to which, by lack of control, it enables, for example, the use of on -board cards to third parties.
“We agree with ENAC that there is a need to simplify all Boarding procedures, but travel safety should be the most important priority,” the organization was announced.
