Asseco Resovia must arm itself with patience. Tough draw for the defending champions

Asseco Resovia will defend the CEV Cup next season. In the upcoming edition, the team’s volleyball players will start the competition from the 1/16 finals. The Poles got it very wrong.

Last season, Asseco Resovia made history in Polish men’s volleyball. In the CEV Cup final, the team defeated SVG Lüneburg and became the first team from the PlusLiga to win the trophy. The MVP of this match was Stephen Boyer.

CEV Cup: Asseco Resovia must be patient

In the upcoming campaign, Asseco Resovia Rzeszów will once again take part in this cup. The defending champions will start the competition from the second round, but they will still have to wait to find out who their opponent is. According to the draw, the PlusLiga club will face one of the teams that will not manage to qualify for the Champions League. Let us recall that in this most prestigious European cup we will see Jastrzębski Węgiel, Aluron CMC Warta Zawiercie and Projekt Warszawa.

In turn, Wilfredo Leon’s new club – Bogdanka LUK Lublin will compete in the third cup – Challenge. The team, like Resovia, will start the competition from the second round. Their opponent will be the winner of the double-header Volley Bartreng from Luxembourg and Maccabi Tel-Aviv from Israel.
