As of today, you can apply for an energy voucher. Who can apply for the benefit?
From 1st August you can apply for an energy voucher. We remind you who can apply for the benefit.
At the beginning of May, the government adopted a draft law introducing an energy voucher and a maximum electricity price for the second half of this year.
A month ago, the Ministry of Climate and Environment published a template for an application for an energy voucher. From August 1, i.e. today, they can be submitted to the commune office, via an online form, as well as via the ePUAP platform and the mObywatel application.
Energy Voucher. Who can apply?
Let us recall that the energy voucher is available to households whose monthly income does not exceed PLN 1,700 per person or PLN 2,500 for a single-person household.
The voucher has a value of:
-
PLN 300 for a single-person household;
-
PLN 400 for a 2-3-person household;
-
PLN 500 for a household of 4-5 people;
-
PLN 600 for a household of 6 or more people.
If the main source of heating in a given household is powered by electricity and is entered or reported to the Central Register of Building Emissions, the voucher will have twice the value, i.e. PLN 600 for a single-person household, PLN 800 for a 2-3-person household, PLN 1,000 for a 4-5-person household and PLN 1,200 for a household of 6 or more people.
The Act provides for a “zloty for zloty” mechanism, which means that an energy voucher will be awarded even after exceeding the income criterion, and the voucher amount will be reduced by the amount of such exceedance. The minimum amount of vouchers paid is PLN 20.
The application must include, among other things, the details of the applicant and household members, address, account number, and main heating source.
Applications for the benefit will be accepted until September 30.
