Are you going to Italy? You must remember these four points

The Polish embassy in Rome advises how to avoid problems when traveling in Italy. Just follow these four simple rules.
Want to be a gold medal tourist? The Polish Embassy in Rome advises how to experience a safe and unforgettable holiday in Italy in four simple steps. The key to success is respect for the local culture and common sense. The most important element of a successful trip abroad is proper insurance. In Italy, on the basis of the European Health Insurance Card, we can have all necessary health services completely free of charge.
Safe holidays in Italy
Vacations outside Poland require proper preparation. Even if we are traveling to a country that does not require a visa or passport, we should take care of our safety. In its latest post on the X platform, the Polish Embassy in Rome reminded tourists from Poland of the most important elements of a successful trip to Italy. “The Olympics are over, but you can be a (gold) medal tourist. Keep an eye on your documents and money in front of the borseggiatori,” we read. Pickpockets can be a real nightmare during vacations in Rome, Florence, Naples or Rimini. “Thefts in tourist spots are really common,” warns the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs and advises that in Italy you should never take your eyes off your luggage. “Sometimes it is enough to put your bag on the sidewalk or the bench you are sitting on to be robbed,” it adds.
Vacation Insurance
Another element that every responsible tourist should pay attention to is travel insurance. Insurance against the consequences of accidents that occurred abroad can be purchased from many companies that provide such services. It is also worth getting a free EHIC card – the European Health Insurance Card. Thanks to it, both tourists and people traveling for professional reasons have the opportunity to use health care on the same terms as citizens of the country. By using it, we can be sure that as foreigners we will not be charged additional costs.
The Polish Embassy also advises not to commit the two biggest sins of a tourist in Italy during your stay. “Don’t order cappuccino after 11,” we read in the published post. What else is not welcome? When in an Italian restaurant, under no circumstances should you ask for ketchup, which is popular in Poland.
