Artistic atmosphere in grandma’s house in Majorca

The house formerly belonged to Inés’ grandmother, and later she lived here with her parents – interior designer María Antonia Carbonell and her father, painter Pere Alemany. – We lived without electricity for seven years. We washed ourselves with rainwater from the tank and used kerosene lamps, says Inés. They already welcomed guests, mainly artists, but it was more of a joyful commune than a real hotel. – My mother created rooms that she would like to live in, says Inés. When she grew up, she went away to college, her parents were getting older, and the house began to fall into disrepair.

A place of holistic relaxation

Recently, Inés returned to the island. There were many impulses, the most important of them was the fight against cancer, which revalued the woman’s life. – The idea of a regular hotel didn’t excite me. I wanted to create a place with a holistic approach to relaxation, one that would allow us to turn off the “autopilot” that governs us every day, she explains. See also: A stunning house in Majorca. Recycled materials, natural fabrics

Each bedroom and common space is a small work of art, using natural materials such as recycled wood, stone and organic fabrics. Common spaces – a living room with a fireplace and a piano, a summer dining room, extensive gardens and a swimming pool with a health bar – create an atmosphere of intimacy and harmony. All these elements create a coherent design that combines functionality with aesthetics, and at the same time promotes an ecological approach to life.
