Are Poles good at saving? Some people put aside quite a staggering amount

The Quality Watch study for BIG InfoMonitor conducted in the middle of last year shows that just over 80 percent Poles have savings. In most cases, they turn out to be not very big. One third of respondents (33%) do not hide the fact that in the event of a sudden loss of income they would only survive for a month. Only 26 percent respondents claim that they managed to save enough money to last for up to half a year.

The authors of the study emphasize that the safety buffer is defined as the multiple of the net wages that we have set aside. Most often, it is the value of 6 months’ net remuneration. In the middle of last year it was approximately PLN 27,870. – WITH research results show that 4 out of 10 Poles have accumulated savings at the level of this buffer, i.e. they have financial security – emphasizes Dr. Hab. Waldemar Rogowski, chief analyst at BIG InfoMonitor.

Every sixth Pole has saved over PLN 100,000. zloty

How much exactly do we have set aside? The study shows that the largest group can boast a financial cushion ranging from PLN 10,000 to PLN 30,000. PLN (18%). A survey by SW Research for “Wprost” conducted at the beginning of April shows that almost two-thirds of Poles (66.1%) save money regularly. 28.5 percent respondents admit that they do not save, and 5.4 percent he says he has nothing to save.

The survey shows that men save more often than women (69.2% and 63.2%, respectively). However, funds are most often saved by the highest-earning survey participants – over PLN 7,000 net (80.3%), as well as respondents aged 25-34 (78%), people from cities with a population of 200,000 to 500,000. inhabitants (75.2%) and respondents with higher education (73.8%).

Respondents with basic vocational education most often admitted that they do not save (37%), as well as the oldest study participants aged 50 plus (34%), the lowest earning respondents – up to PLN 3,000 “hands-on” (33%), and residents of the largest cities – over PLN 500,000. inhabitants (31%).
