Andrzej Wrona ended his long-term cooperation with Polsat Sport. The former Polish representative and 2014 world champion announced his decision on social media. In an emotional entry, he summarized several years of work in volleyball broadcasts.

The former PGE Projekt Warszawa captain’s adventure with television began in the match studio during the 2014 World Cup. Later, the former volleyball player regularly appeared on PlusLiga and Champions League broadcasts, where he served as an expert and commentator.

As he admitted, working in front of the camera allowed him to stay close to his beloved discipline even after the end of his professional career. “It was an amazing adventure. Thanks to the opportunity I got, I had the opportunity to meet amazing people full of passion and dedication to their work. I could be close to the most important volleyball events that I would never have been able to attend“- he wrote.

Andrzej Wrona also emphasized that working with a microphone and camera gives him a lot of satisfaction. “I gained incredible experience and realized that working in front of the camera and with a microphone is something that gives me great joy,” he admitted.

He addressed special words to Jerzy Mielewskione of the most famous journalists of Polsat Sport, with whom he co-created volleyball broadcasts for years. “Here I will only write ‘thank you’ and I will tell you the rest when we see each other,” we read.

The former volleyball player did not hide that parting with the Polsat Sport team would be a difficult moment for him. He noted that over the years of working with this team, he has created unique relationships. “I will miss you all! Now I will watch my beloved discipline on the other side of the screen and in the arenas as a fan and listen to my favorite volleyball voices,” he said.

The former captain of PGE Projekt Warszawa also thanked “everyone who worked hard to spread these volleyball images to the world.”

Finally, the former athlete emphasized that sometimes it is worth deciding on a change and leaving a well-known environment. “During the last years of professional gaming, I couldn’t imagine my ‘afterlife’ without this crew from the photos, but as you can see, life writes interesting scenarios. Sometimes you have to get out of your comfort zone,” he concluded.

Andrzej Wron’s decision saddened his fans. “It’s a pity to lose such an outspoken expert who knows what he’s talking about”; “It’s a pity! I loved you on the dance floor, but also next to the commentator”; “It’s a pity, Andrzej, but you have to respect the decision,” wrote Internet users.

For now, it is not known whether Andrzej Wrona will remain associated with the world of sports broadcasting. The former volleyball player only confirmed that, together with his wife Zofia Zborowska-Wrona, he will host the second season of the cult program “Love Is Blind Polska” on Netflix.
