President Andrzej Duda visited the Slovak Republic for two days. He took advantage of the invitation of President Peter Pellegrini, who prepared a unique gift for him.
As informed through the Polish president’s website, the main topic of conversations between the leaders of Poland and Slovakia are the relations between these countries, the cooperation of the two countries as part of the Three Seas initiative and security matters.
The discussion on the last of these topics takes place in the context of the presidential proposal to increase the level of defense expenditure among the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance to 3 percent. GDP.

The presidents had a “face -to -face” conversation and then chairing the conversations of the delegation from both countries. They also performed at a joint press conference, during which Duda thanked Pellegrini for building good Polish-Slovak relations.
The Polish president also reminded his Slovak equivalent of the Triphane initiative planned at the end of April.
– For me it will be on the one hand a summary of my ten -year presidential service not only for the Commonwealth, but also for building bonds in our part of Europe, building a security system – he said.
Andrzej Duda mentioned that the construction of the Via Carpatia route is a key investment for the region. – We should develop these connections between us. Not only to think about this Europe East – West, but also this space of the North – South, which allows us to travel from the Baltic Sea to the Black Sea through all countries, remaining in the great historical community – he argued.

During his visit to Slovakia, President Duda was surprised by a special gift. – For the president, we ordered skis with the Polish flag, with a nice packaging, because the president is a very active skier. We wanted to enjoy something that is very close to him – said Pellegrini.
– These are ladies and gentlemen skis for the so -called Freeride, i.e. driving outside the route, i.e. the president encourages me to go beyond the beaten trails – Andrzej Duda commented on his gift with a smile.
