An unusual sight at the Chernobyl power plant. Blue dogs run there

Blue dogs appeared on the site of the former Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Activists from the Clean Futures Fund report about the unusual sight.

The non-governmental organization Clean Futures Fund, which provides assistance in areas affected by disasters, reports a very unusual phenomenon near the closed Chernobyl nuclear power plant. Her employees observed dogs with unnaturally blue fur there.

Chernobyl. Blue dogs run around in the zone

The discovery occurred while trying to catch wild dogs living in the zone. CFF employees deal with the sterilization of pets, which in the so-called About 700 live in the zone. These are the offspring of animals abandoned there during the evacuation in 1986, when residents had to flee due to a power plant failure and contamination of the area.

“We came across three dogs that were completely blue,” the organization’s employees reported in an Instagram post. It is easy to imagine that many Internet users did not believe the photos shown by activists and expressed this loudly in the comments.

“To those who comment that we faked these photos, or specially dyed the dogs to raise money or spread disinformation – I don’t know what to say except that we don’t have the time or the need to do such things. We are convinced that the reputation of our organization speaks for itself,” the CFF statement emphasized.

Where do the blue dogs come from in Chernobyl?

The organization suspects that the dogs’ unnatural color is not the result of radiation or contamination. One of the solutions to the riddle is the possibility of animals coming into contact with strong industrial dyes or unspecified chemicals. It was noted that the animals did not appear sick. On the contrary, they appear healthy and active.

CFF employees intend to capture one of the blue dogs and subject it to more thorough examination. They hope to solve the mystery of their unusual coloration. CFF at the Chernobyl power plant, in addition to the dog sterilization program, also vaccinates, feeds animals and treats sick animals.
