An unusual event on the European island. There are already reservations for 2026

Plaża na Majorce

Holidays are not over yet, and this European island is already reservations for next year. Tourists attract a unique event.

This holiday season in Majorca is not particularly successful. Hoteliers can, however, see reservations for next year in the system. The reason for interest in distant terms is a spectacular phenomenon that can be observed straight from the beaches on the Spanish island. I am talking about the complete eclipse of the sun, which will further coincide with the evening west. “The number of search searches” Majorca 2026 “in Google has increased by 149 percent over the past month,” we read on the Travel and Tour World blog.

Sun eclipse in Majorca

On August 12, 2026, a completely solar eclipse will take place over Europe. The inhabitants of the Old Continent have been waiting for this unique event for twenty -seven years – no wonder that interest is huge. The exact “route” of the phenomenon is already known, which will start at sunrise on the TaiMyr Peninsula in Russia, and then follow the Arctic Ocean to East Greenland. Then the total eclipse can be observed in Western Iceland, and then in Spain and in the Bragança commune in Portugal. The ceremonial ending of the performance is waiting for lovers of astronomy in Majorca at 20:49, just after sunset.

Places run quickly

Hotels and real estate for rent throughout the island begin to fill up, although there are twelve months to eclipse. The number of available places can decrease quickly, so tourists are encouraged to book accommodation as soon as possible. “Travel agencies recorded a 20 % increase in booking in Majorca during the long weekend in 2026, and many of the best hotels on the island are already full”-we read.

Those who do not manage to buy a stay in Majorca can go on a trip through eclipse into another region of Spain. The phenomenon in earlier hours will be seen, among others in Santander, Bilbao and Saragossa.
