The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Zagreb published new recommendations for tourists. One of the points concerns taking a selfie.

The hottest period of the year is approaching in Croatia. Not only because of the growing number of foreign guests from seaside resorts, but also because of the increasingly higher temperature. Unfortunately, long weeks without rainfall, although they enjoy tourists themselves, are one of the causes of fires. The Polish Embassy in Zagreb published a warning against the upcoming heat wave, as well as a list of recommendations to be remembered during increased risk. “Only 10 percent of forest areas fires are the result of an accident, the remaining 90 percent results from human carelessness,” reads.

Heat in Croatia

In the central and eastern Croatia, the fourth, highest degree warning applies today due to high temperatures. For the rest of the country, the Croatian Hydrological and Meteorological Institute issued a warning of the second degree. “It has been very hot in Croatia for several days-the air temperature lasts at 30-35 degrees Celsius. Tomorrow thermometers in the continental part of Croatia will show up to 37 degrees Celsius,” informs the Polish embassy in Zagreb, reminding you not to underestimate such difficult weather conditions. Regular irrigation, headgear and possible sunlight is the basis for surviving this period.

Don’t take a selfie during a fire

During the heat, the topic of fires also returned, which the season this year began extremely early. Although high temperatures and lack of rainfall are a key factor, it is worth remembering that most of them would not have happened if it wasn’t for the neglect of man. Forest fires are created, among others due to cigarette butts, thrown glass or lighting a bonfire or barbecue and leaving them unattended.

Tourists should also remember what not to do when carrying out firefighting actions. The embassy recalls, among others About non -gagging and not having not used photos from the course of action (including popular selfies), as well as leaving drones on the ground, because they can disturb the aircraft used at that time.
