An algorithm instead of a manager. The first Polish fund controlled by AI is launched

Insignis TFI is preparing a fund in which artificial intelligence will decide on the purchase and sale of assets. Man is only supposed to keep an eye on the system. This is the first such project on the Polish market.

The new product will be called Insignis AI FIZ. It will be the third fund in the offer of the Warsaw society, which currently manages assets worth approximately PLN 334 million. As determined by the XYZ website, formal preparations for the launch began at the end of August.

Two thousand virtual analysts

The technology is provided by the Polish company AI Investments. Its system consists of approximately 2,000 the so-called AI agents. Each of them combines a specific financial instrument, forecasting model and investment strategy. Agents analyze quotations, trading volumes as well as macroeconomic and fundamental data. Based on forecasts, they generate buy and sell signals.

The portfolio is to consist of approximately 60%. from shares and ETF funds, 30 percent from currency pairs and 10 percent from raw materials. The strategy is to be market neutral.

The manager will not disappear, but his role will change. He is responsible for selecting agents from sets provided by the system, adjusting the composition of the portfolio and monitoring risk limits.

Technology proven in Luxembourg

AI Investments has been developing its solution since 2018. The company was co-founded by Paweł Skrzypek and Dominik Libicki, former president of Cyfrowy Polsat, who is also the chairman of the supervisory board of Insignis TFI. The creators first tested the system on their own money. The Luxembourg-based Omphalos Fund, where Skrzypek is the technology and investment director, is most likely based on AI Investments technology.

Omphalos’s results look promising. Over the three years to the end of 2024, the fund earned a total of nearly 40%. net, i.e. less than 12 percent per year, with very low variability. He closed 34 out of 36 months in positive territory. However, it is still a small entity that managed assets of approximately USD 37 million at the end of 2024.

AI does not always beat the market

The experience of foreign AI-based funds is mixed. One of the pioneers, the American AI Powered Equity ETF from 2017, has been performing worse than the S&P 500 index for years. In July 2026, the QRAFT AI-Enhanced US Large Cap fund was liquidated. Israeli FINQ is doing better. According to the company’s data, its two AI-managed ETFs earned about 23.5% from their February debut to the end of August 2026, or about twice as much as the S&P 500.

The creators of the Polish project do not hide their ambition. As an example, they point to Jim Simons’ legendary Medallion Fund, which has had virtually no loss year for over 30 years. And also for large multistrategy funds, such as Citadel or Two Sigma.

Only the first years of the fund’s operation will show whether the algorithms from Warsaw will come close to these results.
