Aleksandra Mirosław won the first gold medal for Poland at the Olympic Games in Paris. Fans waited over a week to hear “Mazurek Dąbrowskiego”. The athlete gave no chance to her rivals, including Aleksandra Kałucka, whom she defeated in the semi-final. The younger of the competing representatives of the White and Reds is also celebrating success after winning the race for bronze.

Aleksandra Mirosław was born on February 2, 1994 in Lublin, where she still lives and trains. As a little girl, she began her adventure with sports by swimming. In time, thanks to the successes of her sister Małgorzata, she began climbing training. In 2014, she joined the KW Kotłownia Lublin club, whose colors she represents to this day. Her coach is Mateusz Mirosław, privately her husband.
Mirosław won her first European Championship medal in 2013. A year later, she was happy with the bronze medal at the World Championship. In turn, for several years now, she has been regularly fighting for victory in the most important events of the season. She can boast two World Championships, two European Championships and a silver medal at the European Games in Krakow. At that time, she lost to Natalia Kałucka.

The Polish representative has dreamed of an Olympic medal for years. She took part in the previous quadrennial tournament in Tokyo, but the climbing there was held under different rules (joint climbing). She took fourth place then.
Before the competition in Paris, it was known that Mirosław, as well as Aleksandra Kałucka, would only compete in the speed climbing. On Wednesday, August 7, the older of the Poles is happy with gold, and the younger with bronze. During the qualifications, the athlete born in 1994 broke the world record in speed climbing (6.06 s).
