ALDI raises salaries and attracts new employees. Will Lidl and Biedronka withstand the competition?

ALDI introduces salary increases for store and warehouse employees. Since January 2025, salaries have increased by an average of 7.6%. Check new rates and benefits.

From January 2025, ALDI is introducing salary increases for all sales and warehouse positions, allocating almost PLN 23 million for this purpose. The average salary increase is 7.6 percent, and the network emphasizes that this decision is an expression of appreciation for employee commitment and an element of the strategy to build competitive working conditions.

New rates for sellers and warehousemen

The raises apply to store clerks and distribution center employees. Cashiers’ salaries now range from PLN 5,360 to PLN 6,110 gross, and store managers can earn from PLN 7,510 to PLN 9,010 gross, depending on the length of service.

In warehouses, beginning employees receive PLN 5,360 gross, and after two years the remuneration increases to PLN 5,960 gross. Additionally, picking workers in warehouses can count on bonuses of up to PLN 2,500 gross.

Salary comparison at ALDI, Lidl and Biedronka

ALDI compares favorably with its competitors, although the differences are small. Lidl offers cashiers remuneration ranging from PLN 5,250 to PLN 6,450 gross, and at Biedronka, wages range from PLN 5,150 to PLN 5,500 gross. For employees with three years of experience at Biedronka, the rates range from PLN 5,300 to PLN 5,750 gross. When comparing average salaries, ALDI focuses on a similar level of remuneration, while providing additional benefits and bonuses.

A rich benefits package

Stable employment and development

ALDI is also distinguished by employment stability. New employees are hired without a trial period, and after one year of work they receive contracts for an indefinite period. The chain is actively recruiting, planning to employ several hundred new employees in sales and warehouses in 2025.

The decision to increase salaries and introduce attractive benefits is part of ALDI’s strategy, which assumes the creation of stable and friendly jobs. The chain not only competes with the largest players on the market, such as Lidl and Biedronka, but also offers unique solutions to attract new employees and retain current ones.
