Alcohol will be removed from these hotels. A well-known Polish chain announces changes
A well-known Polish hotel chain announces changes regarding the availability of alcohol. A pilot program is launched.
Not all Arche hotels offer alcohol. The creator of the group, Władysław Grochowski, announced the launch of a pilot program that will prevent or limit the sale of alcoholic beverages. Gradually, the availability of alcohol will be completely withdrawn in selected facilities in Łódź. “Although for many establishments the sale of alcohol is a significant profit, there are a number of reasons why it is worth limiting this phenomenon,” explains Grochowski. There are as many as 21 Arche hotels in Poland.
Arche hotels without alcohol
Resigning from the sale of alcoholic beverages is now an increasingly popular solution in hotels around the world. The largest private chain in Poland, Arche, also announces the fight against alcohol. As we read on the company’s website, the chain explains the decision with an alcohol problem, which is a serious social and medical challenge in our country.
The announced changes, however, do not mean that alcohol will disappear from the bars and restaurants of all hotels in the chain overnight (there are twenty-one such facilities in Poland). Instead of a revolution, there will be a pilot program covering selected facilities in Łódź, and the effects of these activities will be assessed in October 2026. Additionally, Arche plans to stop displaying spirits on the shelves of bars and restaurants. “Alcohol will be sold ‘under the counter’, as the customer will find it only upon explicit request in a special card. However, we intend to offer a 20 percent discount for weddings without alcohol,” we read.
Restricting the sale of alcohol will allow Arche to develop a concept that fits the health tourism trend, build a “wellness” brand and increase the safety and comfort of guests.
Alcohol is disappearing from Polish cities
Alcohol consumption is becoming an increasingly serious problem also in Polish cities. For years, people have been fighting against the image of a “party resort”. Sopot authorities. Meanwhile, from June 1, 2026, Warsaw is introducing a night ban on the sale of alcohol in stores and gas stations. The restriction will apply from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
