Millions of seniors in Poland can count on additional financial support in the second half of 2025. Pursuant to the adopted provisions, the fourteenth pension will be paid within a specified period, and its amount will depend on the income threshold. Check who will receive the full amount and to whom the benefit will be reduced.
When is the payment of the fourteenth pension in 2025?
Pursuant to the applicable Act, the fourteenth pension will be paid by October 31, 2025 at the latest. The final decision regarding the exact date is the responsibility of the Council of Ministers, which may adapt the schedule to the budget situation and the number of authorized pensioners. In previous years, additional benefit was paid at different dates – in 2022 in August, and in 2023 and 2024 in September. It is possible that a similar schedule will also be preserved this year.
How much will the fourteenth pension be in 2025?
The amount of the fourteenth pension is associated with the minimum benefit after valorisation. In 2025 it is PLN 1878.91 gross. However, not all seniors will receive a full amount because the income threshold at the level PLN 2,900 gross per month. People whose income exceeds this limit will receive a benefit reduced according to the “zloty for a zloty” principle – this means that each zloty above the threshold reduces payment by the same amount. As a result, seniors with the highest benefits will not receive a fourteenth pension.
Who will receive the fourteenth pension in full?
To receive fourteen in full, the pensioner’s income cannot exceed PLN 2,900 gross monthly. People with higher benefits will receive a reduced amount, and those with the highest income may not receive an allowance at all. It is also worth noting that the fourteenth pension is not subject to bailiffs And it is not included in the income when applying for social assistance.
Will there be changes in the rules of payment in 2025?
At the moment, the government has not announced any changes in the rules of granting the fourteenth pension. Despite the annual increases in benefits, the income threshold remains unchanged, which means that more and more seniors are gradually losing the right to the full amount or receive a benefit in a reduced amount.
It is worth following the official announcements of ZUS and the Council of Ministers, because detailed payments may be announced closer to the date of granting the benefit.
