Accident on the Nysa Rally route. The car went off the road

There was an accident during the Nysa Rally in which two people were injured. Around 3:30 p.m., a car taking part in the race fell off the rally route. The incident occurred in the area of ​​Maciejowice, on the SS1-SS3 section. The car hit people next to the road.

Two people were transported to hospital. One of the people was taken by an air ambulance helicopter, the other by an ambulance. The injured were photojournalists documenting the course of the Nysa Rally. They suffered injuries to their lower limbs. The people hit by the rally car were in a place that was marked as dangerous by the rally organizers.

The services are investigating the circumstances of the incident. Police officers from the Road Traffic Department and the Investigation Department of the District Police Headquarters in Nysa went to the scene of the incident. The police said that the injured people were at the bend of the route. They also confirmed that this place had been marked with a warning sign.

“We appeal to all fans to be careful and follow safety rules while watching the rally,” the Nysa police wrote on social media.

“Let’s choose only permitted and safe places – the markings of dangerous zones are not accidental!” – added.

The Nysa Rally is part of the Polish Rally Championship. It is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday (October 11 and 12).
