Abandoned flight control tower. It scares among the block of flats in Warsaw

I am talking about an abandoned and totally devastated place. At the area of ​​the former Warsaw-Babice airport there is an unused flight control tower. She used to serve employees of the military port. Today, appearing next to her, we’ll find a sad view.

The mentioned facility is located at Widawska Street in Warsaw’s Bemowo. It hides among the traditional gray block, near the sports hall or playground. The inhabitants of this area may seem terrifying, after all, it does not have any function, and admission to its area is officially banned. Despite this, many Urbex fans explore this area. Thanks to them, we know exactly what we will find there.

The tower was built in the 1950s, and operated until the 1970s when it stopped performing its function, many plans for her. In the 1990s, an animal clinic and children’s theater operated in the mentioned area. In 2017, the building was entered in the Municipal Register of Monuments. It is known that since then he belongs to the Military Housing Agency, whose headquarters previously was.

Closer to the historic place, he looked at, among others creator of the YouTube channel called @bizonnaszlakuiurbex. In his film “Flight Control Tower-part of the former Warsaw-Babice airport” presented the image of an abandoned object.

The tower, although it turned out and has a beautiful shape, has broken windows, rusty elements, and here and there it is anointed with a spray. Gray and old bricks dominate. The whole is fenced with a mesh, and trees grow around. Inside, we will find a winding staircase with a handrail and damaged balustrades, the rubble and plaster falls off the walls everywhere. In addition, the grilles can be seen in some windows. There are also huge basements inside.

Internet users who have the opportunity to see photos of the building on social media are still asking if it is possible to go inside. The author of the Instagram profile @Warszawskie.mosaiki who took pictures on the spot corresponded to those interested that “not very much”.

Although the former flight control tower could be an interesting tourist attraction – especially for aviation fans, today you can only dream about it. There is no indication that the fate of this object will change in the near future.
