Selgros closes its online store
– Your personal data is safe with us. After closing the website, user accounts in the online store will be deactivated. The data will continue to be processed by the administrator in order to enable customers of the Selgros24 store to make purchases in Selgros stationary sales halls. – it was announced in the announcement.
Selgros has no plans to relaunch its e-commerce platform for now.
Wojciech Klinger, marketing specialist in the Selgros chain, emphasized in a comment for Next.gazeta.pl that the decision to close Selgros24.pl is the result of adapting the company’s strategy to market needs, in particular focusing on the further development of stationary trade and professional catering services.
– These two areas have been the foundation of our business for years and are key to the further growth of Selgros. The online store was not a key element of this model, which has always been based on direct contact with the product and freedom of choice, providing our customers with the best shopping experience – emphasizes Klinger.
Selgros24.pl has been operating since 2013 as a shopping platform addressed mainly to business customers with a customer card. The website offered a wide range of products. You could buy there, among others: office supplies, cleaning products, but also food and small household appliances. The key element of the offer was the ability to supply the company in one place and simplified settlements in the form of one invoice.
Selgros has been running a network of wholesale shopping halls since 1997, of which there are currently approximately 20. They are located in the largest cities. The company focuses on the cash & carry model, serving both entrepreneurs and individual clients.
