A well-known airline is introducing free internet. Poles will also benefit

Internet during air travel is something that every traveler would like to have access to. Unfortunately, after the mandatory activation of airplane mode on the phone, we usually lose access to the network. While in the sky, you can use WI-FI available on board. However, it is not everywhere, and when it is, it is often paid for. It is missing, for example, on such airlines as Wizz Air or Ryanair. Soon, passengers of Turkish Airlines will not be able to complain about the lack of access to the network, but this will not be the case.

Free internet on Turkish Airlines

The well-known Turkish carrier has announced serious changes. It is used by many tourists from abroad, but also from Poland. Everyone will notice the differences. Passengers are to have access to unlimited internet connection during the flight completely free of charge. The service will be introduced on every plane in the fleet.

The revolution is to take place in 2025 at the latest. This means that we will have to wait a little longer. The Turkish carrier has already signed an agreement with TurkStat – a government agency that is to ensure a good quality connection. The official announcement of the cooperation took place at an air show in Great Britain.

It will be high quality

“As part of this initiative, Turkish Airlines plans to upgrade its existing fleet and equip it with the latest in-flight connectivity (IFC) technologies (…). This will enable the carrier to extend the IFC service currently offered on most of its fleet to the entire Turkish Airlines fleet, providing all passengers with unlimited, uninterrupted and faster IFC service, free of charge,” the carrier said in an official statement.

It is worth noting that Turkish Airlines already offers its passengers free internet. Unlimited is only available to business class passengers with Miles&Smiles Elite or Elite Plus membership. Other business class passengers have 1GB of internet at their disposal. After the changes, it is supposed to be much better.

It’s a luxury for tourists

Turkish Airlines’ decision will make passengers feel at least luxurious. The new service is to be free – regardless of the flight fare and travel class. This will be crucial – especially for people who would like to work while traveling. The connection is to be stable and relatively fast.

The service will be introduced gradually – it will appear on the first planes at the end of this year. By the end of 2025, everyone is to enjoy the new solution. Currently, regardless of the travel class on Turkish Airlines, passengers have the opportunity to get a paid internet package. 100 MB costs USD 8, 250 MB – USD 15, and for unlimited internet we will pay USD 15 for short-haul routes and USD 35 for long-haul routes.
