The Ukrainian discount chain Avrora plans to expand to Poland. After its successes in Romania, the company aims to further conquer the European market.

The Ukrainian discount chain Avrora, known on the local market since 2011, announces its expansion to other European countries, including Poland. According to Commercial News, the chain has opened over 30 stores in Romania, where it operates under the name “Aurora”, and plans further development, this time on the Polish market and in Moldova.

Avrora currently manages a network of over 1.6 thousand. branches, offering an assortment of 6,000. products in 30 categories. Customers will find there, among others: household products, clothing, cosmetics, chemicals, electronics, toys and sports accessories. Food products such as snacks and drinks are also available in limited quantities.

Expansion in Europe

Avrora began operating on foreign markets in the fall of 2023, debuting in Romania. So far, it has opened over 30 stores there, and now it has submitted its trademark for registration in Moldova. Plans to enter the Polish market indicate the ambition to further develop in Central and Eastern Europe.

According to anonymous sources quoted by the industry website, Avrora’s debut in Poland depends on many factors, including operational preparation and market analysis. Although the specific date of entry into the Polish market is not yet known, possible success in this field could mean a serious challenge for existing players in the discount segment.
