The matter of Janusz Palikot’s detention remains unanswered. Businessman’s representative Jacek Dubois he informed that when he talked to him on the phone, CBA agents confiscated his smartphone and prepared a report on the conversation, which they then forwarded to the prosecutor. The lawyer has serious objections to the investigators’ work. He claims that viewing the detainee’s phone and correspondence is a violation of attorney-client privilege. – A prosecutor breaks into someone’s life and does it consciously, he said.

The attorney said that he was informed about the case through the Polish Bar Association Adam Bodnar. He also announced that he would submit an application to the Ombudsman. But that’s not the end. – I believe a crime has been committed. Today I am reporting the possibility of a crime being committed by the prosecutor’s office. While Minister Adam Bodnar must explain this ex officio, in order to bring about criminal proceedings against a person who has exceeded his powers, immunity must be lifted. This is no longer the responsibility of the minister – he explained on TVN24.
When asked why correspondence with Janusz Palikot was interesting for the prosecutor’s office, Jacek Dubois replied that investigators love to attack defense lawyers. – – There was forbidden fruit there. What a lawyer talks about with his client as part of professional confidentiality. And the forbidden fruit is probably the most tempting and the prosecutor, knowing that he cannot do it, knowing that he will commit a crime by entering this phone, just like that original man could not resist the temptation and entered – he explained.
– For years I have found protocols where my clients are interrogated about conversations with me, where they are asked what I told them and so on. Surveillance of defense lawyers, attempts to intimidate defense lawyers, attempts to violate the right to defense are, unfortunately, a standard that appears among dishonest prosecutors, he said.

Janusz Palikot’s representative also referred to reports regarding the complaint against the court’s decision on conditional arrest. – I will argue about the amount of the surety. A million zlotys for my client is impossible at the momentunless a business organization decides to support it, he said.
