A terrible murder in Krakow. In the background there are scores of hooligans
Shocking news from Krakow. As a result of the squabbles between hooligans, “Yankes”, known in the Krakow community and associated with the local Hutnik, died.
It is no secret that in Krakow there are scores of hooligans. Unfortunately, officially we can talk about another death, this time of a man from the Krakow Hutnik community.

The incident took place on the night from Thursday to Friday at the Willowe estate in Nowa Huta. A man called “Yankes” in the fan community was attacked by a group of hooligans who identify with Wisła Kraków. We will return to the context of a club from the PKO BP Ekstraklasa football league.
– After arriving at the scene, the witness found an unconscious 36-year-old man. Emergency services were called to the scene. The man was transported to an ambulance. Despite the actions taken, he died in the ambulance. The police are explaining the circumstances of this incident. The findings so far indicate that people associated with the fan community may have participated in it. The police detained 9 people with whom procedural activities are currently being carried out, admitted Iwona Szelichewicz from the Małopolska police for Radio Kraków.
The fan community is in shock. The above-mentioned Wisła Kraków, which was credited with the attackers visible in the recordings, widely commented on the case on Saturday (June 22) evening, publishing a long statement.
“In connection with the information and materials appearing in the public space, including comments suggesting the participation of people identified with Wisła Kraków in the tragic incident in Nowa Huta, the TS Wisła Kraków SA Football Club strongly condemns all acts of violence and aggression.
At the same time, we strongly oppose the automatic linking of Wisła Kraków and our entire community with the activities of specific people. Using the name, colors or symbols of the Club, as well as declaring sympathy for Wisła, does not constitute representing the Club or acting on its behalf.
Violence has nothing to do with cheering. It cannot be justified by tribalism, attachment to a specific group, color, district or any ideology. Any attempt to take away another person’s dignity, health or life is a denial of the basic principles of humanity

There is and will never be our consent to using the name, history and symbols of Wisła Kraków as a pretext for hooliganism, aggression or criminal activity. Our Club is made up of hundreds of thousands of honest fans, players, employees, young athletes and families. We will not allow this entire community to be identified with the unlawful actions of individual people.
Until the activities carried out by the competent authorities are completed, the club will not comment further on the matter. We are waiting for the official findings of the Police and the prosecutor’s office and we remain ready to cooperate within the scope provided for by law.
Our position is clear: zero tolerance for any manifestations of violence. No colors, divisions, environmental rules or sense of belonging can be more important than human life, dignity and responsibility for other people,” we read in the statement.

The surveillance footage was posted on social media. It was published, among others, on portal X by the Mad Reporter. Due to the drastic scenes, we decided not to share the video of the brutal crime lasting several minutes.
