A terrible fall on the ski jump in Planica! It looked very bad

It cannot be denied that in the case of ski jumping hills there is a really high risk. The reality is mainly dictated by the weather conditions, which are particularly severe for objects of such huge size.

A fatal fall on the famous Letalnica. The fans held their breath!

On Wednesday, the first tests took place in Planica, at the famous facility – Slovenian Letalnica. Among those who had the opportunity to jump was Pole Wiktor Fickowski. The Polish jumper landed at a distance of 167 meters. However, Fickowski made only one jump, there was no second attempt, and the tests were interrupted due to the deteriorating jumping conditions.

Unfortunately, there was a serious fall. The 22-year-old representative of the hosts, Nik Heberle, lost his optimal position shortly after leaving the door and had no control over the flight. The effect was that the jumper hit the boule with great force and fell helplessly to the bottom of the mammoth hill.

Heberle was immediately in the hands of emergency services, and training was suspended for over 15 minutes. The fans gathered in the stands froze, and the situation was very serious indeed. After a few minutes, the jumper was conscious and was handed over to medical services for further assistance and observation.

It is worth adding that Kamil Stoch will have his last weekend in his career at Letalnica.

World Cup in Planica. When will the 2025/26 season close?

The last weekend of the World Cup in the 2025/26 season will start on Thursday (i.e. March 26) with men’s qualifications – from 10:00. The individual competition is on Friday (i.e. March 27), from 3:00 p.m. However, on Saturday (28/03) there will be a team competition – from 9:30. And at the end, there will be a competition on Sunday (March 29), with a men’s individual competition from 10:00.
