A tense situation in the east of Poland. Donald Tusk announced “kinetic activities”
Yesterday General Kukuła informed about the “violation” of the airspace by Russian drones. These types of events will not be tolerated by the army. Prime Minister Tusk gave a clear position of Poland.
On September 4, General Wiesław Kukuła confirmed the media reports of the night incident. The airspace above Poland was violated – the presence of foreign military facilities was noted within the territory. Soldiers, however, are in constant readiness-from the very beginning they had everything “under full control”-emphasized the Chief of the General Staff of the Polish Army during the Thursday press conference in Warsaw (also participated in, among others, the head of the Ministry of National Defense-Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz).
The head of government also referred to the matter a day later. Donald Tusk pointed out that in the east of Poland there is a special need for the presence of allied troops. It is worth knowing that yesterday’s operation was attended by the Dutch-specifically pilots of the local armed forces in multi-purpose F-35 machines. The prime minister pointed out that on the right side of the Vistula “we are dealing with a growing tension associated with provocations.” – I talked to the Minister of National Defense for a long time and we will react from today in a very decisive way – he said during a press conference.
Tusk about the “provocations” of the Russians: they will always have to take into account the consequences
The Prime Minister announced that “everyone who runs the provocation will have to take into account very serious consequences.” It is about both “diplomatic reactions, the action of the state, our services and kinetic actions.” – Everyone who will violate Poland’s airspace will have to take into account the reaction of the Polish Army – and immediate – he noted.
The day before, General Kukuła emphasized that the army is permanently “ready” and at any time he has “armed means”. He emphasized that for the General Staff, the most important thing is that guarantee the security of citizens of the Republic of Poland.
The situation in the east of Poland is obviously related to the war on the war in Ukraine.
