A surprising turn in the case of the suspended Pole at the games. Everything is clear!
Good news from the Olympic Games in Paris. Mateusz Rudyk, a track cyclist suspended by the International Cycling Federation (UCI), has a chance to start.
Disturbing news about Mateusz Rudyk appeared on Thursday evening on several foreign portals dealing with cycling. The Pole was supposed to be suspended by the International Cycling Federation (UCI). This was supposed to mean that Rudyk would be banned from the Olympic Games.
Media: Mateusz Rudyk will start at the Olympics after all!
However, the situation was calmed down in the pages of WP/SportoweFakty by Rafał Makowski, the president of the cycling federation.
– The Polish Cycling Association contacted the Polish Anti-Doping Agency and the International Cycling Union and Mateusz Rudyk has already had a certificate issued since July 24, which allows him to take insulin for therapeutic purposes (…) I am very optimistic. In my opinion, Mateusz Rudyk’s appearance at the Paris Olympics is not in danger – admitted Makowski in an interview with Arkadiusz Dudziak.
Where did all the fuss come from? It turns out that there was no certificate stating that Rudyk was taking insulin for medical purposes. Which is quite paradoxical, because the track cyclist has openly spoken many times about having diabetes. Apparently, the UCI did not take this fact into account when testing the Pole’s sample, tested on June 1.
A mistake can happen, but although President Makowski is optimistic, there is still no official… reversal of the decision by the International Cycling Federation. And there is not much time left, because Rudyk is supposed to be at the start on August 7.
XXXIII Summer Olympic Games in Paris from July 26
The opening ceremony scheduled for July 26 (beginning at 7:30 p.m.) is expected to be watched by up to 1.5 billion people.
For the first time in history, it is to take place not in a stadium, but on a river. A six-kilometer stretch of the Seine, an exceptional cultural journey, with the finish line near the Eiffel Tower. And the whole thing will be serviced by 45 thousand uniformed services. Paris will be the most important in the world that day and one can only hope that the whole thing will take place in the atmosphere that the history of the games has earned.
And peaceful slogans were significant not only from July 26 to August 11, the closing day of the 2024 Olympic Games.
