A stunning find on a Polish beach. “The Baltic Sea can surprise”

Bursztyny znalezione nad Bałtykiem

Amber is sought after on Polish beaches every year. Some are lucky, and most importantly, they know where to find it. This was the case with Ms. Katarzyna.

One of the lovers of the Polish sea boasted about her amber collection on the Facebook group “I love Mierzeja Wiślana”. The woman’s post delighted internet users, including us. We decided to ask Ms. Katarzyna where exactly she collected the beautiful specimens and whether we can publish the photographs she took. Here’s what we found out.

Amber found on the Baltic Sea

Without hesitation, Ms. Katarzyna Krzyżewska agreed to show her photos to an even larger group of people. One of them shows one specific and large piece of amber, the other a whole handful of smaller pearls. Although it might seem that such a sight is rare, it turns out that some people are familiar with it.

The amber was found shortly before sunset. One of the photos also shows beautiful scenery, including a beach and the sea. All of this on the Vistula Spit, right near Jantar. “There is probably no place on the Spit where you wouldn’t manage to catch amber,” the happy finder informed. She added at the same time that there is no rule, suggesting that being in the right place and time also counts. “All it takes is a change of wind and the amber is gone in a moment,” she commented.

We asked Mrs. Katarzyna about the weather in this location and whether it also has an impact on the fruitful harvest. “The weather is beautiful now and it would seem that amber is hard to come by, but we managed to catch something. The Baltic Sea can often surprise and pleasantly surprise you,” the woman commented.

Internet users are delighted as usual

Discoveries of this type have been widely reported on social media. We have been delighted with amber from Darłowo and Chłapowo, among others. This time it was time for Jantar and the admiration was endless. Internet users who had the opportunity to see the aforementioned photos expressed their congratulations and asked questions.

“What a wonder”, “Such treasures are only in the sea”, “I envy you, I would like to find at least one small one”. – we read in the comments section. Many people wanted to know where exactly to look and asked if the collection took place after the storm. The truth turned out to be completely different. Have you already been lucky to find amber by the sea? Perhaps you have made another surprising discovery?
