A Step Away from Tragedy in Polish Resort: Tourist Injured on Carousel

Amusement parks are usually associated with entertainment and spending time pleasantly. They are used by both children and adults, and in the largest centers of this type you can enjoy extreme roller coasters or carousels. Although the amusement park in Władysławowo is not associated with controversial attractions, it turned out that not all tourists can feel safe there.

An accident at the amusement park in Władysławowo

A 45-year-old man who was spending time at an amusement park in Władek was injured on a carousel. He was taken to hospital with leg injuries. The case is so serious that the police and prosecutor’s office have taken up the matter. The incident was reported on the afternoon of August 22. “The police initially determined that a man using the park’s attractions, sitting on a chair on one of the carousels, suffered leg injuries. The 45-year-old was transported to hospital,” informed Senior Constable Joanna Samula-Gregorczyk from the District Police Headquarters in Puck.

Unfortunately, this is not the first dangerous accident that has occurred at an amusement park in Poland or around the world. Sometimes, due to failures, tourists had to hang on rollercoasters for hours, and some even died. This was the case, for example, in 2023 in Cap D’Agde, France – a teenager fell when the wind shook the Adrenaline slingshot. The man in Władysławowo was much luckier, although the situation did not look good either.

The police are working on the case

The police in Władysławowo are currently investigating the circumstances of the accident. It is to be revealed whether there was an unintentional endangerment of life or health. It is known that evidence at the scene was secured by a forensic technician. It was reported that it is too early to draw conclusions.

The officers also appeal to other tourists using similar attractions. On the website of the Puck County Police Headquarters, we read that before using the entertainment offered by the park, you should check what age or height restrictions apply on the premises. “Let’s read the park regulations and the instructions for using the devices carefully. Let’s ask the service staff,” the police inform.

The police also emphasize that when visiting an amusement park, we should not forget about appropriate clothing. Clothing should not restrict our movements. Shoes with non-slip soles will work well. It is also important to check the weather forecast in advance.
