A shocking confession by a Polish Olympian at the Games! “I preferred this to suffering”
The 500-meter speed skating competition in the 2026 Winter Olympics ended without a medal for Poland. Andżelika Wójcik, a Pole, made a shocking confession.
The best Polish woman competing in the 500 meters was, as predicted by Winter Olympics 2026, Kaja Ziomek-Nogal. The Pole was fourth after her start, and ultimately finished the competition in sixth place. Thus, recording the best performance in his career, taking into account only the Olympics.
WINTER 2026: Shocking words of Andżelika Wójcik. An Olympian left to her own devices?
The second best Polish woman in 500 meters was Andżelika Wójcik. The competitor from Lubin in Lower Silesia ultimately took 11th place. After her start at Winter Olympics 2026, she gave a bitter, honest interview.
It must be admitted that the Olympian revealed quite shocking details of her preparations. The representative who took part in the Olympic event had to prepare alone, without a coach.
– For this Olympic year, I was left without care, without the preparation of a coach (…) I am sorry that it was left to me, so to speak. She had to take care of herself. True. I preferred this to suffering, simply – said Wójcik in an interview with Piotr Karpiński from Eurosport after her start.
As for her club affiliation, Wójcik – at least theoretically – is a player of MKS Cuprum Lubin. However, as we heard in the conversation at Winter Olympics 2026, the speed skater summa summarum had to fend for herself.
Winter Olympics 2026 scandal? PZŁS responds to the allegations
Rafał Tataruch commented on Andżelika Wójcik’s allegations. The head of the Polish Speed Skating Association firmly denied the athlete’s words and presented a completely different version of events.
– It is difficult to explain such words of Angelika, who, embittered after the start, tries to shift the blame and blame everyone else but herself. She had full coaching supervision. This is not an easy person. She argued with every trainer possible. He cannot function in a group and argues with everyone. He is an antisocial person who doesn’t know how to fit in, he said.
The president of PZŁS added that “Suggestions that the player did not have coaching are lies and Andżelika Wójcik should apologize, first of all, to the coaches who tried to help her.”
– We had to put out fires all the time. First, with coach Artur Wasio, with whom she did not want to train. Later, we asked her to work with coach Roland Cieślak and that was the case until October, until the World Cup competition in Salt Lake City, where she said that she no longer wanted to train with the group because everyone was against her – he enumerated.
– We asked coach Agata Jabłońska, our team leader, to take care of her, for example by measuring times and helping with the warm-up. It was agreed that Andżelika would implement the plans of coach Roland Cieślak, but she did not even implement it – he added.
The scenario presented by Rafał Tataruch was also confirmed by Konrad Niedźwiedzki, member of PZŁS and head of the Polish Olympic mission.
