A shock in the world of Polish volleyball. “We unite in pain and memory”

Tragic information about Adam Michalski appeared on Friday (i.e. September 4) on social media. One of his former clubs, currently playing at Tauron Liga, announced the death of the volleyball player.

“It is with great sadness that we inform you about the death of Adam Michalski, a former player of our club, playing as a middle blocker. Adam represented our colors for five seasons: 2005/2006, 2006/2007, 2007/2008, 2008/2009 and 2011/2012, at the level of the second and first league. He was an athlete devoted to the team, a valued colleague and a player with great heart for volleyball. In recent years, he served as a player and assistant coach in the second-league club MKS IKAR Legnica, still passionately involved in the development of volleyball. Adam Michalski was 38 years old. We express our sincere condolences to his family, friends and family in the pain and memory of a man who will forever remain a part of the history of our club.

Michalski was a player of Cuprum Lubin at the peak of his career. Together with the team from Lower Silesia, the midfielder was promoted to the top league. The volleyball player played in dozens of matches in the then PlusLiga.

In total, he spent four seasons at the highest club level in Poland – in 2014-18. Michalski played a total of 50 matches, in which he scored 148 points for the team from Lubin, according to statistics from the official website of the competition.

The center started his senior career in the colors of GKS Katowice. He played twice in the previously mentioned club from Jaworzno – then called Energetyk – dividing these periods with a stay in Avia Świdnik. In the last years of his career, Michalski was associated mainly with Lower Silesia. After playing for Cuprum Lubin (2012-18), the player also played for SPS Chrobry Głogów, KPS Chełmiec Wałbrzych, and most recently MKS Ikaru Legnica.
