A screen for special tasks. From the kitchen and training to the store and office
New categories of devices are most often created not because a completely new technology was invented, but because someone combined known solutions in an unusual way. The smartphone was not the first telephone or the first pocket computer. The tablet did not invent the touch screen.
Samsung The Movingstyle also uses elements that we have known for years: a TV, a monitor, a tablet, a stand on wheels and a battery. What is new is their combination
The Movingstyle has a 27-inch QHD touchscreen, a base that allows for height and tilt adjustment, vertical and horizontal operation, a detachable panel with a handle, and a battery that lasts for up to three hours. The Tizen system provides access to TV features, streaming applications, browser, Samsung Art Store and smart home support.
The simplest way to describe this device is a “TV on wheels.” It’s catchy, but incomplete. Circles make sense not because everyone wants to watch a show while moving from room to room. They are important because the screen can change function as the location changes. We can have it where we need it.
It can show a video recipe in the kitchen. Touch allows you to stop the material or scroll through it without looking for the remote control, and the limited-reflective surface improves readability in daylight. Once detached from the stand, the screen can be placed directly on the countertop, using the rear handle as a support. Reviewers indicate cooking and watching while doing household chores as some of the most natural uses of the device.
A moment later, the same screen may go to the place where we exercise. The training video is clearly visible from a greater distance than on a smartphone, the screen can be tilted towards the person performing the exercises on the floor, and the lack of a cable allows you to position the device in the center of the free space. The Samsung Daily+ system brings together functions related to, among others, training and SmartThings, so the screen can simultaneously operate smart home elements.
In a doctor’s, physiotherapy or beauty salon, it can be used to present the patient with photos, a treatment plan or exercise instructions. Touch makes it easier to pinpoint a specific area, and the portrait orientation better suits documents. In the waiting room, the device can display information and then be moved to the office without installing a second monitor.
It would work similarly in trade. The salesperson can bring the screen to the customer instead of sending them to a stationary station. In the furniture showroom it will show color variants of the product, in the boutique it will show the full collection not available locally, and in the car showroom it will show the equipment configurator. After the conversation ends, the device can return to the role of a promotional screen.
HDMI and USB-C allow you to connect a computer, console or peripheral devices, while the 120-Hz refresh rate makes Movingstyle also a mobile station for presenting games. The possibilities are easy to multiply. At a wedding, the screen can show a table plan or photos. Act as a mobile information point in the hotel. During the fair, conduct a presentation, survey or product catalog. Display the repair manual in the workshop. In the art studio, serve as a preview of references, and at home as a digital canvas with works from the Samsung Art Store.
For years, we chose the screen based on where it would sit. A TV for the living room, a monitor for the office, a tablet for traveling. The Movingstyle reverses this logic. First a need arises, and only then the screen goes where it is supposed to meet it.
