A record fish in a tiny lake. The fisherman was in disbelief

Wade Jensen went to Fishpole Lake (Custe County) with his parents, Chandra and Hayes. The resident of Moore, Idaho, had one goal – he wanted to catch a record Arctic grayling (a freshwater fish from the Salmonidae family).

That’s what happened – he “circled” the shore with a fishing rod until he finally came across a huge salmonid, reported Wired2Fish.

The angler was lucky

A foreign portal that talked to the record holder described W. Jensen’s struggles in detail: “He saw three large graylings swimming close to the shore. Then he threw a nymph (artificial bait – ed.) in front of one of them. He directed it towards the specimen and started reeling in quickly, hoping that the fish would start biting. It worked! The specimen grabbed the bait, and after a successful fight, it landed on the landing net.”

Jensen immediately took a ruler out of his backpack to measure Grayling – it turned out that he was 16.7 inches, or nearly 42.5 centimeters.

This length was enough to officially confirm the new Idaho record.
