A puma appeared in Masovia? An important appeal to residents was issued
A puma was supposed to appear in the Ciechanów district. The authorities issued an appeal to residents not to enter forests and woodlots.
On Monday, August 10, the Gołymin-Ośrodek commune published information about the animal on its website. As it turned out, it was supposed to have been seen a few days earlier near the village of Osiek-Wólka.
A puma was seen in the forest
The secretary of the Gołymin-Ośrodek commune, Anna Augustyniak, said in an interview with TVN24 that on Monday around At 8.00 she received information from the Ciechanów Forest District about a wild animal. It was then reported that on August 7, hunters from the hunting club “Basior” they noticed “a large cat, probably a puma”.
She also added that the area is being monitored to make sure the animal is there. Camera traps are also ordered.
An appeal was issued to residents
Due to the situation, an appeal was made to the residents of Osiek-Wólka, Osiek-Aleksandrowo, Osiek Górny, Stare Garnowo “please be especially careful and do not enter forests and trees in these areas. Please pay special attention to children”. You should also exercise extreme caution and notify the services in case of danger.
A statement on this matter was also issued by the District Crisis Management Center in Ciechanów. “If you notice an animal or an immediate threat, please notify the services immediately by calling the emergency number 112. Please remain calm, follow the recommendations of the services and provide information to people who may not have access to current messages” – attention was paid.
– Due to the fact that it is the holiday season, many children spend their free time, go mushroom picking and pick berries, so I appeal to parents to remain vigilant, observe the surroundings, and do not enter the forest and tree stands – appealed the secretary.
