The Italian region of Emilia-Romania gains the interest of Poles. Tourists from our country are already the third most numerous group of visitors from abroad, after Germany and the French. Compared to 2023, the increase in the number of guests from Poland is significant and amounts to 19 percent. What attracts travelers here? First of all, excellent cuisine – this is where today the balsamic vinegar and aromatic Parma ham come from every kitchen.

Poles love Italy

Italy definitely reigns among winter directions on City-Break. The Apennine Peninsula attracts tourists from Poland with the sun, monuments, ski resorts and coastal resorts. In recent years, regions have gained popularity, which have recently remained unknown to tourists. Among them is Emilia-Romania, located in the northern part of the country, connecting both access to the mountain peaks of the Apennines and the Adriatic beaches.

The data speak for themselves. In 2024, the region was visited by 184,392 Poles, i.e. 19 percent more than in the preceding year. Although we are still far from the Germans who have a special sympathy (1 million tourists), but we are slowly approaching the French (270,550 arrivals).

The most important attractions in the region

The biggest advantage of Emilia-Romania is its location. Both owners of four wheels and fans of short planes come here. From Poland, the easiest way to fly here thanks to direct connections to Bologna and Rimini. The seaside resort and city with the oldest university in the world are not the only places that are worth visiting in the region. Tourists should remember even a one -day trip to Modena – the capital of balsamic vinegar and Ferrari and the Parma parliament known for the production of the Parma ham. Regardless of where we finally decide to go, we can be sure of an exceptionally spent time. “There is an unlimited selection of attractions for the arriving – from music, art and gastronomic festivals, through new museums, coastal promenades, natural parks and amusement parks,” reads.
