The Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc festival is the largest event in the world of mountain races. Every year, over 10,000 runners from around the world start at eight distances, and over 100,000 fans come to the alpine capital. trail. The competition is broadcast live in five languages, gathering 10 million viewers and 175 million views on social media.

More precisely, Martyna Młynarczyk, who won the CCC (Courmayeur-Champex-Chamonix) race, with a total length of 101 km. Our representative covered the route in 11 hours 41 minutes and 55 seconds. The Polish runner entered history as the first player from our country who triumphed in the run played as part of the Ultra-Trail du Mont-Blanc.

It is worth adding that the competition itself had a huge drama. The Polish woman ran from 35 a kilometer, but at the last coincidence to the finish, she was caught up in the Swedish Sylvia Nordskar, a friend from the same band as Młynarczyk. Ultimately, however, the Polish woman endured this nerve test and a kilometer before the finish she managed to overtake the Swedish, on the finish line, running just 18 seconds in front of her friend from the route.

This year’s edition was extremely successful for Polish representatives and representatives. In addition to the historical success of Młynarczyk, you need to record the performance of two Poles. Andrzej Witek at the OCC distance (from Orsieres to Chamonix, 61 km long) took third place, and Kamil Leśniak in the UTMB competition (full loop around Mont Blanc, i.e. 175 km) ended the competition in the 14th position.

It is worth noting that the world of mountain races is growing incredibly and fights to include in the Olympic Games program. In three weeks in Canfranc, in Spain, there will be a world championship organized by World Athletics.

Over 80 teams from around the world and 2,000 players will come to the Spanish Pyrenees.
