On the night of September 1-2, a Polish citizen was attacked by a knife in Venice. Were it not for the help of footballer Alessandro Bellemo, the woman could die on the spot.

As described by the portal “La Nuova Venezia”, ​​at night with Mondays to Tuesday, a tourist from Poland was attacked by a cutter. She walked with the dog when a man attacked her and he dealt with ten blows with a knife.

The exact course of the event or its reasons is not yet known, the police investigation is underway. It is known for sure that Poland was helped by a 30-year-old Sampdoria footballer Alessandro Bell. The player stayed in Venice with his family. The cutter’s victim hurried with his brother, taking her to his apartment. He notified the services from there, calling for medical help to Wounded.

According to the report in “La Nuova Venezia”, ​​it appears that the Polish woman was initially conscious, only after some time she began to lose awareness due to blood. Bellemo emphasized that she asked what happened to her dog every now and then. Luckily, doctors managed to save a woman’s life. She also managed to find her animal, which was scared on the streets of Venice.

The Italian police detained the suspect in this matter. He is a 25-year-old man who, according to the media, is struggling with mental problems. He was arrested, where he would wait for further action of the judiciary.

Alessandro Bellemo is a 30-year-old player playing in UC Sampdoria as a middle midfielder. He was initially loaned to the Serie B club from Como, while in 2025 he joined there on the principle of definitive transfer.

In all his career he played mainly in Serie C and Serie B, i.e. in the back of the highest Italian class – Serie A. In his career he played 315 official matches, scoring 15 goals in them.
