A Polish aquapark that resembles the waters of the Oder. He was appreciated abroad
This is one of the most modern water parks in Poland. His project was awarded in a foreign competition.
Modern water parks are no longer just large swimming pools with slides on several levels. Well-designed space, thematic decor and attractions are important to guests.
Aquapark Water Factory. A modern entertainment center
In 2025, the “Fabryka Wody” Aquapark project in Szczecin was appreciated by the international jury of the International Architecture & Design Awards 2025 competition. Designers from the TKHolding Truszczyński & Kobierzewski studio won gold in the “Sports, recreational and wellness buildings” category.
The form of the water park was inspired by the meandering waters of the Odra River. The space is divided into different thematic zones. A network of tunnels, crevices and chambers has been built in Griffin Cave, creating an “immersive environment inspired by the region’s rugged geology and the primal force of nature as architect.” Another attraction is the Rushing River, which imitates its current.
The building is divided into two parts. The recreational area includes indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a sports pool, water attractions, saunas, spas, and restaurants. In total, guests can use 21 water basins and 11 slides in Water World.
Guests will also benefit from a large saunarium – 13 different saunas and baths are located on 3 levels. There is also a relaxation area in the brine graduation tower and a relaxation area on the roof.
Educational and sports attractions
In the second part there is an Edukatorium – a part with a platform and a Spiral of Knowledge, where on each floor you can gain knowledge through play. There are also sports attractions, such as a climbing wall, bowling, a gym and squash. The idea was to create a complementary space.
Most of the outdoor space is available free of charge. With the exception of indoor swimming pools, the spa area and paid attractions, admission to the “Water Factory” area is free. The public area changes its character depending on the season: in summer, the amphitheater serves as a meeting and event space, and in winter, there is an ice rink there.
