A Polish angler caught a record carp. “I got choked up”

“Carp fishing is my passion,” emphasizes Sylwia Tkacz, who recently broke the Polish women’s record in this category. As she reported via Facebook, she pulled a fish weighing 36.8 kg out of the water.

“I don’t focus only on numbers, but I must admit that beating my PB is always something special and gives me satisfaction. When the scale with the bag showed 39 kg… I was simply blown away!” – she wrote on her social media profile. “Finally, 36.8 kg is my new personal record and great joy, pride and emotions that cannot be described in words!” – she emphasized.

Her feat was described in more detail by the Sport.pl website. – My adventure with fishing for large carp began about 11 years ago, and my fiancé infected me with the passion. After catching my first carp weighing over 10 kilograms, I knew this was it. Today, I spend every free moment and every vacation by the water, Tkacz told journalists.

As she recalled, on the occasion of the record catch, she and her fiancé switched places. When it was her turn and she cut, she felt great resistance. – Initially, the fish swam calmly towards the shore, but at the end of the fight it showed its true strength. We knew it was a really big specimen because we had a problem lifting it for weighing, she reported.

Sylwia Tkacz made a record catch in Austria at the Glory Hole fishery. Afterwards, she released the fish into the water according to the currently fashionable “Catch & Release” principle.

Journalists confirmed that after exceeding 35 kilograms, she became the record holder. The previous best result was achieved in 2020 and belonged to Justyna Brodziuk. She caught a carp weighing 34.15 kg on Lake Miłoszewskie.
