Finding witnesses will be crucial to determine the course of the event. The circumstances are explained by police officers from the Police Headquarters in Sondrio. In winter, the Italian state police play patrols in ski resorts together with the “mountain security and rescue service”, also in Bormio.

Since 2022, there has been sharpened safety regulations on the Italian slopes. Every skier using there must have civil liability insurance, which covers damage caused to third parties.
