The rock formation known as the Twardowski Brama is located in the picturesque region of the Wiercica Valley – a few km from the golden stream. It is a hill resulting from the erosion and weathering of the rocks and is 4 meters high. I am talking about a quiet, green terrain full of trees and wild nature. At the same time, a safe area willingly explored by tourists.
The visit of this place is not only about taking beautiful photos, but also to remember the old legend related to Mr. Twardowski, a nobleman associated with, among others With the fact that he sold the soul of the devil and later he was to land on the moon. According to one story, it happened by accident after he tried to outsmart Satan. Earlier he was to agree with him that he would be able to take his soul only when he was in Rome, and he did not intend to pretend there. Ultimately, the devil found him in a tavern called Rome.
Local legends show that Twardowski escaped from the devil in this area, and then rocked the rooster and headed to the moon. This was to happen on the mentioned rock. In memory of this, it is called the Twardowski gate. All thanks to the poet Zygmunt Krasiński, who came up with such a term.
