A nightmare in the famous National Park. Tourists were attacked by a bear
That’s not how we would like to finish trips around the famous kingdoms of nature. These, although full of wild animals are usually safe. This time tourists were very unlucky.
The nightmare incident took place in the Kenai Fjords National Park in Seward in Alaska. Two tourists – a woman and a man – wandering on local trails were severely bitten by a bear. The couple returned home on a popular trail. Alaska’s Public Security Department announced that it ended with a fierce fight.
Bear attack on tourists
Tourists walking in the National Park were 125 kilometers south of Anchorage, the largest city of state. It was on the well -known route that they were bitten by the bear, among others in a calf or buttocks. A visit to the hospital turned out to be necessary, but ultimately the injuries did not threaten anyone’s life.
Not only abroad, but also in Poland, it turns out more and more often that bears and other wild animals do not avoid popular trails at all. They can be found at the least expected moment, because they get used to people and look for easily available food. This, unfortunately, heralds dangers similar to the one that took place in Alaska.
The trail was closed
Since the Fjords Kenai Fjords has often occurred, this time the national parks’ authorities decided to close the trail until further notice. On the spot appeared, among others Local biologists and policemen who study the area.
Before the mentioned National Park, he also warns, among others Alaska Public Security Department. All tourists and locals are reborn expeditions in these areas and recommends to be particularly careful.
It is worth remembering that in Kenai Fjords in Alaska, not only brown bears, but also black, live in Poland. Although most of them usually ignore people, some try to defend their territory. The Service of National Parks warns that tourists should under no circumstances try to scare the encountered individuals. At the sight of them, it’s best to move calmly or fall to the ground and pretend to be dead. The defensive attitude should only be turned on when the bear begins to bite us.
