A new water park in Poland was supposed to open next year. The first shovel has not been broken
The opening date of the new water investment in Podkarpacie has been postponed. The city still has not finalized its plan to finance the project.
This investment in Rzeszów has been talked about for a long time. The plans are impressive. A modern aqua park with an area of 6 ha is to be built in the Staromieście estate. “The Rzeszów water park in the Staromieście housing estate will be one of the most modern and attractive in this part of Europe. It will have many attractions for everyone, both the youngest and seniors,” announced the erzeszow.pl website in 2025
The plans include, among others: a swimming pool with an artificial wave and a 25-meter swimming pool with a movable bottom, a sauna area, the so-called a lazy river, a zone with a sandy beach, slides and a care point, an education center for young people with elements of gamification, a water cinema and a thematic grotto. The renowned architectural studio TKHolding is responsible for the project, which designed, among others, Fabryka Wody aquapark in Szczecin.

In November 2022, the mayor of Rzeszów, Konrad Fijołek, said that the modern swimming pool complex would be opened in 2027. The website torzeszow.pl informs that during the July session of the City Council, the president provided new details. “We would like to start construction in 2027. I think it will take two years if nothing gets in the way,” he said. Thus, the opening date turned into the commencement date of works.
The construction of the water park will cost millions. At the beginning of 2025, the cost was estimated at PLN 263 million, and later in the Multiannual Financial Forecast, it was mentioned as much as PLN 500 million. Konrad Fijołek emphasized that the construction costs should be separated from the financing costs. He clarified that the construction cost will amount to PLN 270 million.
Funds for a new attraction. The city is counting on subsidies
Aquapark Rzeszów has already elected its president. It was a local entrepreneur, Roland Jakubowski. The financial model of the project is not yet complete. The company has a formal basis to talk about the loan – it was preceded by the Council’s decision to entrust it with the city’s own tasks in the field of physical culture, sports and recreation. It is known that the city is counting on subsidies and is discussing this matter, among others. with BGK, the Polish Development Fund and the National Fund for Environmental Protection.
