A new principle of a known line. These devices cannot be used on the plane
The popular airline changes the rules. Passengers on board will no longer be able to use these devices.
Airlines around the world update safety rules regarding the transport of PowerBanki. Limits for its carriers have already introduced, among others South Korea, and now new guidelines for its passengers have moved Emirates. Although some devices can still be brought to the plane, it will not be possible to use them. In addition, all transported powerbanks must have a clear capacity designation. They also cannot be put into luggage storage spaces located above the seats.
Travel rules with PowerBank
As reported by the Emirates press office, from October 1, 2025, Emirates passengers will no longer be able to use power bank on board aircraft. All this in order to reduce the risk of fire caused by overheating of lithium batteries during travel. The ban on use means that using these devices you will no longer be able to charge phones or headphones or connect to the power supply available on the plane.
Good information, however, is that they will still be allowed on board. However, raw limits apply, because travelers can have only one powerbank with a capacity below 100 Wh. Information about the capacity must be clearly indicated on the device.
Powerbanks in checked baggage are prohibited
Tourists cannot take additional power bank with them, hiding them in checked luggage. When transferring our suitcase, the service will ask us to remove these devices – this principle applies both in Emirates and other airlines around the world.
One allowed powerbank, which the passenger can bring on board, must be in the right place. However, this is not a shelf for luggage. Our portable energy sources must be stored either in the pocket of the chair or in a bag placed under the seat in front of the passenger.
