A new path in Poland will connect two countries. Tourists will be delighted
New attractions appear not only in summer. In the fall of 2026, Poles will be able to enjoy the novelty of cycling. From here they will travel all the way to the Czech Republic.
The end of the investment implemented jointly by the Polish and Czech local governments is coming. This is a new asphalt bicycle path running from the Opole town of Prudnik to Jindřichov in the Moravian-Silesian region, in the Opava Mountains and on the Osobłoga River. Both places offer tourists attractions perfect for an autumn trip.
The new path will connect the two countries
Cycle paths that connect several countries always intrigue travelers, especially those who like greater challenges and longer journeys. The most famous and appreciated is, of course, Euro Velo, which has 17 long-distance routes and connects nearly 40 countries. In the case of the announced novelty, it will be more intimate, but also attractive.
Cyclists will have a comfortable asphalt road, and during the trip they will stop at special shelters and will also find the Municipal Cyclist Service (MOR) with a repair point and a charger for electric bicycles. The new facility is referred to as a “bicycle highway” and is approximately 9 km long. It will connect to the existing route, which will enable a 15-kilometer loop through forests and mountain meadows.
From Prudnik to Jindřichov. This is worth knowing
The new path was announced as safe and completely closed to car traffic. Cyclists will ride from Prudnik through Dębowiec (along the district and forest roads) to the state border and then to Jindřichov in the Czech Republic. The route is intended to provide interesting recreational experiences in a variety of terrain. In the Czech town you will be able to see, among others: Jindřichov Castle surrounded by a park or the Church of St. Nicholas and the U studánky recreation area.
The good news is that the project will be completed ahead of schedule, which was set for the end of November 2026. As part of it, in addition to the path, the parking lot was rebuilt and sections in the forest and between Prudnik and Dębowiec were prepared for traffic. All this is the result of the Interreg program and cost over PLN 11 million.
